TA-6584: “Food Exhibition on Green Autumn Days-Domestic Production 2023” has been organized for the 18th times from 20 to 26 September, 2023 in open field at the Central Stadium in Ulaanbaatar. The event was organized by TA6584MON (Managing the Risks of Food Insecurity in Mongolia during COVID-19 Crisis) in close collaboration with Department of Food Industry Policy Coordination Department of the MOFALI.

Overall objective was to support the sale of food producers, purchase new autumn crops, as well as the finest products from local brands and national factories at a reduced price from a single source, with the aim of enabling the people of Ulaanbaatar to prepare their winter resource and fostering conditions for business cooperation and exchange knowledge.

Participation:

“The joint event “Green Autumn Days – Domestic Production,’ aimed at showcasing the efforts and achievements of diligent workers in this sector, was organized according to the approved program. A total of 507 citizens and enterprises participated in the event, including 246 growers from the province and the capital, 151 food producers, 50 small and medium enterprises, 10 cooperatives, and 50 light industry businesses. They collectively generated sales of 2.7 billion MNT and offered their products directly to consumers at factory prices.”

To introduce and promote various types of equipment and tools used in agricultural activities to industries, enterprises, and citizens, the first-ever international Agro-expo exhibition of agricultural equipment was organized in cooperation with Expo Mongolia LLC. This initiative was part of the technical supply policy, showcasing that farmers have had the autonomy to make technical choices since the beginning of the year. It also highlighted the support for market regulation and the adoption of the finest foreign brand technologies.

The show introducing Mongolian traditional food culture was organized in cooperation with Altangadas restaurant and Broadway restaurant. 

CONCLUSION:

  • In the framework of the “Food Supply and Security National Movement” initiated by the President of Mongolia, U. Khurelsukh, our aim is to report and promote the activities of the food, agriculture, and light industry sectors. We also strive to support the sale of products from national producers and vegetable growers while fostering mutual exchange of experiences. Our overarching goal is to create conditions for the expansion of Mongolian food production, services, and the preservation of local heritage and culture.
  • The joint event ” Green Autumn Days-Domestic Production 2023″ took place in the open field of the Central Stadium. The number of participants doubled compared to the previous year, and the organization was highly effective.
  • Participants from rural areas were registered with the FAD of their respective province and were given the opportunity to showcase and promote their selected products by participating in the joint event. More than 100 food factories, 246 vegetable growers, 10 cooperatives, and 50 small and medium-sized enterprises from 21 provinces participated.
  • In order to support the sales of national producers and growers, the MOFALI provided the opportunity to trade for 8 days, to participate in interesting meetings, discussions, and activities, and to conclude contracts, without the rent of fields and stalls.
  • The preparations for the event began on August 7, 2023, and a working group consisting of representatives of the Departments of the MOFALI and affiliated departments and the Office of the Governor of Ulaanbaatar was formed and completed according to the work plan for preparation and the organization.
